Welcome to Learning Event #9 (#LE9) for #WalkMyWorld 2016.
Over the previous eight learning events, we’ve shared mulitmodal content (images, video, audio, and text) to share a bit about ourselves. In this learning event, we’ll synthesize this to tell the story of me.

Digital storytelling is a short form of digital media production in which you share aspects of your life story. Across the #WalkMyWorld Project, you’ve been using various forms of digital media to tell parts of your story.
Emily Bailin talks about the power of digital storytelling in the classroom. In this we have the potential to move from personal tales to the recounting of historical events. Teachers and students can collaborate as learners to explore factors that impact our community.
Your Response
In this learning event, we will curate all of the information you shared over the previous eight learning events. You will pull all of these learning events together and look across the content to weave the story of me.
Collect all eight of the links you shared from your website, or on Twitter for all of the learning events. We would like to suggest that you might use Storify or Diigo Outliner. You may also choose to post this curated content to a new page on your website or blog.
Share a link to each of the responses to the learning events, and for each link you share, craft a sentence or two indicating what you learned…or why you shared that part of your walk. Across all eight learning events, you’ll develop and showcase a comprehensive, curated look at your world.
Storify is a free tool that can be used as a formative assessment and to create stories using social media elements. Diigo is a free social media highlighter. You can use Diigo Outliner to collect, curate, and share links.
As in previous learning events, share your contribution using the #WalkMyWorld hashtag and keep close to the hashtag to see what others are sharing.
Please include #LE9 to indicate the learning event. You may also include a hashtag to recognize your own learning network.
A guiding example
As you collect and curate the story that you told over this project, you may consider the way Ian O’Byrne, one of the #WalkMyWorld organizers used Storify to collect and curate his learning events in a previous iteration of this project.
